About CalvinBarrows
Chartered engineer, retired. Focused on forensic engineering, to establish mechanisms of failure; worked in the rail industry.
In 2007, travelling on London Underground's Central Line, I discovered the real cause of overheating and all my research since has substantiated my findings. The crux is that overheating only happens in the summer so you need to identify the mechanism that only happens in the summer, and its not the use of the brakes!
I have written and published many articles and papers on London's Tube overheating and have recently used my understanding of heat transfer to consider why buildings overheat - in the summer!
