High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, states: ‘Country Parks were established as a result of the Countryside Act 1968. Natural England recognises Country Parks as significant places that contribute to England’s accessible natural greenspace.’
