Trypophobia

PAS 6463:2022, Design for the mind – Neurodiversity and the built environment – Guide, published by BSI Standards Limited 2022, defines trypophobia as: ‘intense and disproportionate fear towards irregular patterns, bumps, protrusions or clustered holes and, in general, images that present high-contrast energy at low and midrange spatial frequencies… This condition is thought to be an evolutional, unconscious reflex reaction.’
