Mor humus

Geoarchaeology, Using Earth Sciences to Understand the Archaeological Record, published by Historic England in 2015, defines mor humus as: ‘a form of topsoil occurring in acidic situations where organic matter forms a dark surface mat, rather than being intimately mixed with the mineral material.’
