Intimate landscape

High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, defines an intimate landscape as: ‘A landscape with enclosed spaces created by nearby vegetation, topography or a combination of both, often of small scale.’
