Opportunism
In the sixties Tate and Lyle had a major fire at their Silvertown works. Sir Frank Taylor dispatched some 50 employees from various sites to help with the clear up, re- establish security and provide temporary power and water supplies while isolating dangerous services and bracing existing buildings weakened by the fire. All this was done without Tate and Lyle being a Taylor Woodrow client.
Guess which firm was given the contract for rebuilding the premises and extending the facility.
