Lead engineer

Setting the bar. A new competence regime for building a safer future. The Final Report of the Competence Steering Group for Building a Safer Future, published in October 2020, defines the Lead Engineer as the: ‘Advisor to the dutyholder to ensure all the engineering components of a building in scope are suitably co-ordinated and compatible with one another in terms of safety, functionality and future maintainability.’
