Smart temperature sensor
Guide to Controls (BG 83/2023) written by John Marrow and published by BSRIA in June 2023, states: ‘Smart temperature sensors are used to control the room conditions to maintain a comfortable temperature depending on the occupancy requirements. The sensor is able to directly control the output device it is connected to, for example an air conditioner. These sensors can be interfaced, via a network connection, to external sensors which enable them to change the requirements based on the outside climate. Once programmed, they can provide different settings dependent on occupancy hence making efficient use of energy.’
