Preserved Right to Buy
Housing statistics and English Housing Survey, glossary, published by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities in 2019, defines Preserved Right to Buy as: ‘Right to Buy that applies to secure council tenants whose home was transferred from a local authority to another landlord (such as a housing association) and who are still living in that same home as at the time of the transfer. It can also apply if the tenant then moved to another property owned by the new landlord.’
