Fixed gas cushion expansion vessel
Pressurisation of Closed Heating and Cooling Systems (BG82 2022), by Rob Clemson, published by BSRIA in October 2022, defines a fixed gas cushion expansion vessel (or sealed system expansion vessel) as: ‘An expansion vessel with a gas cushion which is compressed as the system water expands.’
It defines gas pre-charge as: ‘The initial gas cushion pressure in a fixed gas cushion expansion vessel.’
