Construction methods
- Traditional Construction: This method is based on conventional techniques and materials. It involves building structures on-site using bricks, concrete, steel, and other materials. Skilled laborers and construction workers follow architectural plans and construct the building step by step.
- Prefabrication: Prefabrication involves manufacturing components or modules off-site in a controlled factory environment. These prefabricated elements, such as walls, floors, and roof sections, are then transported to the construction site and assembled. This method offers advantages like faster construction time, cost savings, and improved quality control.
- Modular Construction: Similar to prefabrication, modular construction involves building entire sections or modules off-site. However, in modular construction, these modules are complete rooms or units with finishes, fixtures, and fittings. They are transported to the site and assembled together to form the complete structure. This method is often used for projects like hotels, student accommodations, and residential buildings.
- Steel Frame Construction: Steel frame construction utilizes steel columns, beams, and trusses as the primary structural elements. The steel framework provides strength and durability, and it can be erected quickly. This method is commonly used in high-rise buildings, warehouses, and industrial structures.
- Concrete Frame Construction: Concrete frame construction involves using reinforced concrete to create the structural framework of the building. Concrete columns, beams, and slabs provide support and stability. This method is popular for its strength, fire resistance, and versatility. It is often used in residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.
- Green Construction: Green construction, also known as sustainable or eco-friendly construction, focuses on minimizing the environmental impact of the construction process and the building itself.
