Section 61 consent
High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, defines Section 61 consent as: ‘A consent issued under Section 61 of the Control of Pollution Act 1974. The application for consent details how noise is to be managed on-site.’
