It is very important at the outset of any project to decide on what you want. Some of the most important aspects of a building are often considered so late in the design process that they cannot be incorporated properly. This is particularly true of insulation and this translates into target U-values which in turn translate into wall thicknesses and can preclude some design features. The target U-values should be clearly set as should air tightness targets. So often the minimum standards that are allowed by the building regulations are taken on as acceptable; yet within a very few years these have changed. A U-values of as close to 0.1 and airtightness of less than one would both be good to aim at.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
He likes everything to do with saving energy, saving money, likes robustness and hates flat roofs, parapet walls, SIPs, box gutters, dg, air leakage and lack of insulation.&lt;br /&gt;
