= ¿What are foundations on construction sites? =

The foundation is the part of the structure that forms the base of a building, and which transmits the stresses received to the ground.
What is the foundation?' This is not a post where I intend to give a construction class, for that, there are rivers of ink, but some powerful tics if you are passionate about the work.
== Types of foundations ==
Fortunately, construction techniques and their evolution have provided us with different methodologies and types of foundations.
Although we must also recognise that it is not the part of construction with the most evolution and possibilities.
Below, I will tell you in a very pleasant way about the types of foundations that we usually use in building works.
And I am going to do so from the point of view of a site manager and sharing with you certain experiences I have had on site that may be of interest to you:

=== 1. Semi-deep foundations ===
As the name suggests, these are those in which, due to the need to support the ground surface, we are forced to go deeper than the edge of a standard footing.
In other words, we are forced to use foundations with greater depths, without going several metres deeper into the ground.
In the following section I will give you two examples of a foundation with these characteristics, as well as explaining the cyclopean foundation.

=== 2. Cyclopean foundations ===
I remember a construction site in the north of Spain, where we went to build some reinforced concrete walls, with their corresponding strip footing, and once we were ready to carry out the task, our surprise was that we could not find the roadbed anywhere.
In spite of the fact that the geotechnical and other previous works promised us a terrain with unbeatable characteristics, we found ourselves in an area where the road surface was nowhere to be found, no matter how deep we went.
