Association for Project Management (APM) is the only chartered body for the project profession, with over 35,000 individual members and more than 450 organisations participating in their Corporate Partnership Programme.

It is a registered charity committed to developing and promoting the value of project management to deliver improved project outcomes for the benefit of society. It delivers education, develops qualifications, conducts research, provides resources, runs events, shares best practice and gives the project management community the opportunity to connect and debate. It was awarded a Royal Charter in 2017.

Its vision is of a world in which all projects succeed, with project management as a life skill for all: “Inspiring communities to deliver meaningful change for societal benefit by advancing the art, science, theory and practice of project management.”

It is governed by charter, and its Board also agrees Regulations to cover detailed aspects of governance.

APM offers membership for individuals, organisations and students. Membership requires adherence to a Code of Professional Conduct.

Full members and Fellows (MAPM/FAPM) are ‘voting members’ and have the right to attend general meetings. They are also eligible to stand for election to serve on the Board of Trustees, which has nine elected trustees and up to three appointed trustees.

APM branches provide events that are accessible to all levels of membership whilst also serving the wider public good. These events offer opportunities for members to network, make connections and learn about the latest developments in project, programme and portfolio management as well as helping them with their continuing professional development (CPD).
