This step-by-step guide explains how Level 2 [[Building_information_model|building information modelling]] (BIM) can be used for the development of a built asset such as a new building.

BIM Level 2 involves developing building information in a collaborative 3D environment with data attached, but created in separate discipline models.It is required as a minimum on centrally-procured public projects in the UK and is commonly used on private-sector projects.

This guide is written for use by people who are not BIM experts and will be helpful for employers, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
