New page

In June 2021, BSRIA published the white paper, '[https://www.bsria.com/uk/product/n23XeD/artificial_intelligence_in_buildings_wp_142021_a15d25e1/ Artificial Intelligence in Buildings (WP 14/2021)]' written by Henry Lawson. It states: ‘Weak AI is also sometimes called narrow AI. It implies an AI system that is capable of learning but in a limited and focused area. In the context of building services, one example would be a smart learning thermostat. This tracks the way that users adjust the temperature at different times and in different situations and starts looking for patterns, which it can then use to make predictions about what is most likely to meet the user’s requirements in future while limiting energy consumption.’
