After qualifying as an architect Barry obtained a masters degree in architectural conservation. Uniting the twin threads of his specialist knowledge: theatre planning and conservation practice, he has led many of the practice's large scale arts projects. In 1998 he was central to the establishment of Arts Team, the practice’s specialist group dedicated to the creation of buildings for the performing arts.<br/><br/>His experience includes highly complex Concert Halls, Opera Houses, Lyric Theatres, and Arts Centres. These range in scale from 120 seats up to 3000 seats. It involves new buildings and the restoration of important historic buildings. `<br/><br/>Barry regularly speaks at theatre conferences and contributes articles to specialist arts publications.
