The revised standard carries forward APM’s current chartered standard including the name, rigour and routes, but welcomes a new alignment to APM’s Competence Framework 3rd edition and further developments that build on its accessibility and relevance to those who operate in the ever-growing profession. APM is celebrating excellence within projects by adding the 3,000th Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) to its register.

The milestone figure reflects the growing recognition of ChPP status and the value of professional development across the profession, as well as the importance of projects in terms of social benefits.

= Recognised standard =

Chartered status is a professional benchmark which enables those who meet the required standard to demonstrate a defined level of technical knowledge, professional practice and ethical behaviour across industry.

Professionals of all ages, from a wide range of industry sectors and professional backgrounds make up the 3,000 successful ChPPs to date.

= Practitioner benefits =

The benefits of gaining ChPP for project practitioners include:

* Gaining personal and external recognition of a high standard that is common to many other professions
* Promoting a high standard of competence using post-nominal letters (ChPP)
* Enhancing CV and earning potential
* Demonstrating to employers the ability to operate in a complex project environment and meet ethical standards

Nicola Benjamin an Associate within Arup's Project and Programme Management Advisory group who became a ChPP in 2020, says: "I have already seen benefits for both myself and my employer. The standard provides a benchmark for our clients, who are able to instantly gauge my experience and commitment to ensuring excellent professional project management delivery."
