It is sometimes referred to as people counting, and is commonly used to determine the number of people using a facility such as a station, shopping centre and so on. Knowing the footfall gives a clearer understanding of traffic patterns (footfall analytics), space required, staff needed, queue management and so on, and can also help calculate other performance statistics such as conversion rates, dwell times, the average value of transactions, trends, hotspots and so on.<br />

Footfall data can also help compare different facilities, locations, management teams, design solutions and so on.<br />
