New page

[https://www.bsria.com/uk/product/Rrj28r/building_services_analytics_bg_752018_a15d25e1/ Building Services Analytics BG 75/2018], was written by Mitch Layng and published by BSRIA in September 2018. It states in relation to Denial-of-service (DoS) attacks:

“An attacker can cause a network to fail for a period of time by sending a barrage of requests and useless traffic that slows it down to the point of being unusable. A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack on a network is typically carried out by multiple cybercriminals or machines. Cybercriminals create botnets by infecting a collection of computers – sometimes hundreds or thousands – with malware that gives them control of the machines, allowing them to stage their attack, as described above.”
