Basement waterproofing
This article is referencing out of date guidance (details from BSI website below). In addition it is rather long and unstructured. For instance 'Product Types' aren't split in to A, B and C - a fairly important aspect which is only introduced late on in the article as a sub-point below "The existing form of construction".
BS 8102:2009 replaces BS 8102:1990, which is now withdrawn. This is a full revision of the standard, and includes the following changes:
a) A number of recent developments are addressed, which are important when specifying, designing and constructing below ground structures, including:
1) More deep construction in congested urban areas
2) An increase in the provision of residential basements 3) Development and use of new materials for waterproofing
b) A more detailed assessment is provided of the risks in below ground construction and how these might best be addressed.
